Most toilet seats are subject to frequent use that puts pressure on one or both sides. Movement and stress during regular use place extreme demands on the bolts used to attach the toilet seat to the ceramic bowl. Over time, this can cause the bolts to become loose. We therefore recommend checking the bolts on your toilet regularly and, if necessary, tightening them using household tools.
The spots on our toilet seats are caused by UREA powder, which can adhere to the seat during the production process. These spots are harmless and can simply be wiped off when you are installing the toilet seat in your bathroom.
The standard warranty period of two years applies to all Villeroy & Boch toilet seats. Select toilet seat models feature an additional ten-year warranty on materials and functionality.
The hinges, buffer and dampers on our toilet seats can be replaced separately. There is no need to replace the entire toilet seat. For details, contact our customer service department or your bathroom installer.

Cleaning the toilet seat
Our toilet seats have a non-porous finish applied to allow for easier cleaning. To preserve this coating, avoid abrasive, corrosive or acidic cleaning products. After cleaning your toilet seat, use a soft cloth to remove any residual moisture on the seat and hinges. If the toilet seat and/or hinges come into contact with cleaning products and/or other aggressive cleaning agents, rinse thoroughly with clean water. When cleaning, keep the toilet seat and lid open until the cleaning product has been completely flushed from the bowl.
